Motivational Monday: Learn. Live. Share. The Karma for Health Story
Born from the Desire to Share
Karma for Health was born from the desire to learn and share experiences with like-minded individuals. We all “live and learn,” right? When we experience a new health event in our life, we:
- Research to LEARN more about the problem and its solutions
- Apply these methods and LIVE with this new experience
- Then, we SHARE what has worked/not worked with our friends and family
When I’m struggling with some sort of health problem, I am always asking others about their experiences. What recommendations did they get? What did they try? Did it work for them? Not work for them? It’s like a detective game and the more clues you get the closer you come to seeing the patterns. Sharing experiences helps all of us!
Out of this idea, Karma for Health was born. My goal is to build a community of like-minded individuals. Healthcare professionals and laypeople. Practitioners of modern medicine and complementary medicine. Those of us that appreciate the benefits of modern medicine, but also embrace the traditional therapies that have begun to be resurrected. Therapies that teach us the importance of self-love and self-care, over reactive treatment of symptoms. We can balance the equation; an integrative community fighting for integrative medicine.
Mission: Learn. Live. Share.
Karma for Health’s mission is to gather together women that want to LEARN how to LIVE a happy, healthy life and SHARE their experiences with others! A network of women who are open, supportive and positive – striving to overcome the shadow growing over our society – to promote love and sisterhood. Love for ourselves. Love for our families. Love for our communities. Love for our earth. Because once we all begin to work together, and in harmony with nature, amazing things will start to happen!
OK. Enough of the gushy stuff – let’s get right down to it. What does that mean? What does that even look like? In a society that seems to be crumbling around us, cynics and trolls around every corner, how do I light a match? Honestly, I’ve struggled with this idea. A lot. So much that I’ve started this website several times, in several directions and changed it every time (I may have even started this post several months ago….not being inspired to finish it until now).
Until today. Today I just do it. It’s the Year of the DO!
We are all on a journey, following our own path, chasing our own dreams. My path is not your path – but my path may cross your path somewhere! We connect where we overlap and that connection is what I’m searching for!
I’ve been thinking a lot about my journey lately. I’ve had a clear end goal in mind – recently, I’ve developed a plan to get there. So….. that’s where you come in. I’m going to share this journey with you. I have a long list of “things I must learn” and experimenting to do to reach my goals. What better way to build a sharing community, then to SHARE with the community!
This is a path I’ve been meandering down for a while now, but this year I intend to step up my game. I’ll share with you where I am on this path, where I’d like to be and a vague outline of how I’m going to get there. I’ll share the knowledge and resources I gain as I go along and maybe your path will cross mine somewhere along the way!
End goal… self sustainability.
Learn.
After envisioning my dream for so long, this year has become my year to push the boundaries. I am committed to learning all I can about several different areas. What I learn, I will pass on to you through posts, videos, recipes and products.
Live.
Learning happens for a reason. My reason is to improve my and my family’s lifestyle. My second commitment is to live a healthy life based on all that I am learning.
Share.
Sharing is the key. My last commitment is to share everything with everyone. I’ll share my knowledge and experiences with my family, my friends and neighbors, all of you and anyone else that will listen.
So, for the next year, my focus will be on happy, healthy, green living with bigger goals on the horizon. For the next 52 Weeks, 365 Days, I’ll make small changes towards the end goals.
“365 Days to a Better Me”
But wait! I can’t do this alone! I need your help too! This blog is my sounding board, and you are my accountability partner! Yes, that’s right. I’m going to use you to get my work done….so Thank You in advance! Keep me on my game and I’ll keep you over informed. 🙂
